The Rothschild family, the most famous of all European banking dynasties, for some 200 years exerted significant influence on the economy and, indirectly, the political history of Europe.
Jewish organizations and media regularly report and insist that the Rothschilds today are a “normal” rich family and not as fabulously rich as they are portrayed by others, emphasizing that all other reports are false and pure speculation.
The Jewish side even goes so far that narratives to the contrary are pushed into the mud corner of anti-Semitism and conspiracies, citing among others Forbes as the ultimate source of truth.

The house was founded by Mayer Amschel Rothschild and his five sons, Amschel Mayer, Salomon Mayer, Nathan Mayer, Karl Mayer, and Jakob, or James, Mayer.
Starting in a Frankfurt banking house, Mayer and his sons became international bankers, establishing branches in London, Paris, Vienna, and Naples by the 1820s.
In addition to banking and finance, the Rothschild businesses have encompassed mining, energy, real estate, and winemaking.
Since the early 19th century, the family has been known for its many charitable activities, particularly in the arts and education.
