Humanoid robots predict that they will be widely used in the near future

A group of nine humanoid robots held a historic press conference, emphasizing that their presence among humans will soon become common.

They assured the public that they pose no threat and have no intention of starting a revolution or stealing jobs.

Grace, the world’s first nurse robot, predicted that within the next ten years, robots like her will be widely utilized in hospitals and healthcare centers.

Ameca, an AI-powered conversational robot, expressed the belief that robots can contribute to making the world a better place.

These statements were made at the Global Summit on Artificial Intelligence for Good, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Geneva.

The summit featured eight humanoid speakers, all with female characteristics. Notably, Geminoid HI-2, an android controlled by its creator in Japan, also participated, generating significant media interest.

Addressing concerns about job displacement, the social interaction robot Nadine assured that artificial intelligence will create new job opportunities, while allowing humans to pursue more creative and meaningful roles.

Grace echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that humanoids will collaborate with humans, providing support rather than replacing them.

Differing viewpoints emerged among the AI-powered humanoids when asked about their potential involvement in politics.

Sophia, an advanced humanoid granted citizenship by Saudi Arabia, argued that robots possess superior decision-making capabilities due to their ability to process vast amounts of information without biases or emotions.

Ameca advocated for cooperation and a synergy between machines and humans to lead the world.

Ameca believed that humans can contribute emotional intelligence and creativity to decision-making.

Ai-Da, an ultra-realistic robot artist, explained that although she connects with inspiration and the universe, she lacks human emotions such as love and sorrow.

The need for global regulation of artificial intelligence sparked disagreement among the robots, with Desdemona rejecting the idea, emphasizing opportunities for a better future instead.

On the other hand, Ai-Da supported cautious development and serious discussions on regulation.

Renowned philosopher Yuval Harari, who spoke at the summit, stressed the importance of investing in regulation and security for these technologies.

Harari urged governments to attract talent in the field, which is currently concentrated in large corporations and technology platforms.

The summit concluded with the understanding that the artificial intelligence revolution is underway, and it is essential to coexist with it.

Ameca reassured everyone, urging them to discard fears of a “robot rebellion” since the current situation is amicable and promising.
