Miley Cyrus’s plane to Paraguay is struck by lightning

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - US artist Miley Cyrus' plane was struck by lightning on its way to Asunción and had to make an emergency landing at Ciudad del Este airport before departing from Paraguay to Brazil.

"Our plane got caught in a big unexpected thunderstorm and was struck by lightning," the singer wrote on her Twitter account Wednesday to her millions of followers.

The "Angels Like You" hitmaker confirmed that the crew, her band, friends, and family traveling with her "are safe after an emergency landing."
