Venezuela and Qatar pledge to strengthen their cooperative relations

Venezuela and Qatar have pledged to strengthen their cooperative and friendly relations, as established in a meeting held in Caracas between Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Yván Gil, and the Qatari Ambassador to Venezuela, Rashid Mohsin Fetais.

Gil stated the dialogue’s goal was to bolster bilateral ties.

In May, the Venezuelan government acknowledged the 50th anniversary of its bilateral relations with Qatar. The declaration reaffirmed their bond with the Arab nation.

The nation confirmed a legacy of brotherhood, mutual respect, and closeness, exemplified by Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and Qatari Emir, Tamim bin Hamad al Thani.

Last October, Maduro received a Qatari technical investment delegation of businessmen and officials to evaluate and tighten economic relationships.

Qatar was the fifth stop on an international tour by the Venezuelan leader in June 2022, addressing bilateral cooperation in hydrocarbons and promoting joint projects in energy, economy, investment, agriculture, and tourism.

The Venezuelan government set up a business roundtable with a group of Arab businessmen to stimulate investments in Venezuela.
