Carlos Slim’s América Móvil and Chilean Entel authorized to deploy 5G in Peru

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Peru's Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) authorized América Móvil and Entel to implement 5G services for fixed wireless Internet with the spectrum blocks already assigned to 3.5 GHz. The MTC pledged to provide additional spectrum for operators in 2022.

América Móvil was given the go ahead to provide the service in 111 provinces in different departments and, in a separate resolution, to do the same in the province of Cañete, in Lima. Entel's authorization includes Americatel and covers the departments of Ancash, Arequipa, Ica, La Libertad, Lambayeque . . .
