Brazil’s landless workers announce invasion of productive properties in Bahia

On Monday (27), the Landless Workers Movement (MST) announced the invasion of three productive properties belonging to Suzano Papel e Celulose in southern Bahia.

Approximately 1,550 landless people occupied areas of eucalyptus plantations near the cities of Teixeira de Freitas, Mucuri, and Caravelas.

The resumption of invasions by the MST comes amid the new Lula government (PT, progressive-globalist).

In March 2022, Lula stated that the MST would be the "protagonist" in his government and that the landless would have a fundamental role in constructing programs and governance.
