Brazil’s IPCA-15 consumer price index rises 0.99% in February; highest monthly value since 2016

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Nationwide Consumer Price Index 15 (IPCA-15) registered an increase of 0.99% in February, following a 0.58% increase in the previous month.

According to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), this was the highest change in February since 2016 (1.42%).

For the year, IPCA-15 accumulated a high of 1.58% and in 12 months 10.76%, above the 10.20% registered in the 12 months immediately before. In February 2021, the rate was 0.48%.
