Lula da Silva recreates affordable housing program for Brazilian families with incomes below U$1,500

In a political event and the tone of an electoral campaign, president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) signed this Tuesday (14) a provisional measure that recreates "Minha Casa Minha Vida" (My Home, My Life), one of the main marks of the previous PT administrations.

The program will serve families living in urban areas with a gross monthly family income of up to R$8,000 (US$1,500), allow social rentals or purchase of used housing in the cities, and include homeless families.
