The Fire Department reported that the baker had his head and part of his chest crushed by the debris. The victim’s body was also badly burned.

The bakery is located in the central region of the city, on Rua Guiomar Garcia Neto, opposite the bus terminal, a busy area.

In addition to having completely destroyed the bakery building, the explosion affected neighboring properties, which were closed off by the Civil Defense.

According to firefighters, the explosion may have been caused by a gas leak as four cylinders were found under the establishment’s structure.

Forensic investigations will be conducted in the building by Civil Police technicians who will be in charge of officially confirming the causes of the blast.
