Billionaire investor of Tesla and Skype will give scholarships to Brazilians

Billionaire Tim Draper, who was one of the initial investors in what are now large companies such as Tesla, Skype, and Twitch, will provide grants worth US$12,000 to Brazilian entrepreneurs.

The program includes five weeks of acceleration at Draper University in California, with classes and activities monitored by Silicon Valley entrepreneurs.

At the end of the program, the students will have contact with international investors who can invest in the businesses that will be part of the course.

The program will include startups from all over the world at various levels.

“They can be startups, in the traction phase or more advanced,” says Filipe Trindade, juror of the Meet the Drapers program in Brazil and one responsible for curating the startups.

There will be ten scholarships for Brazilian entrepreneurs, 5 of which will be specifically for women founders of companies.

The scholarship is also a way for Brazilian entrepreneurs to access the fund formed by Draper and international investors.

According to the investors, the fund has US$2 billion for startups in various stages.
