Argentina exported more than 2 million tons of soybean meal in March 2022
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Argentine Chamber of the Oil Industry (Ciara) and the Grain Exporters Center (CEC) launched the April edition of the Monitor Agroindustrial 2022, which indicated that a total of 2,035,799 tons of soybean meal were exported in March 2022, registering an increase of 16% (339,760 t) compared to February 2022 (1,696,039 t).
Regarding corn exports, in the same month of analysis, the shipment of 3,191,612 tons of such merchandise was recorded, establishing a difference of 1,462,631 tons compared to February of the same year (1,728,981 t).
In line with the above, it was also noted that more than 1.1 million tons of soybeans and corn did not enter the ports due to the strike of transporters in the middle of the harvesting process of both products. As a result, foreign exchange was reduced by US$536 million.

Finally, the monitoring pointed out that, due to the improvement in the draft of the Paraná River and the higher loading volume of ships, a slight improvement in soybean crushing margins was perceived. Accordingly, the drop in the price of soybean meal and the good supply of available soybeans enabled the industry to reduce the negative situation of its margins.
