“I think the vinyl fair has been a key part of vinyl’s strong resurgence, at least in Rio,” American DJ Tee Cardaci, who will spin second during the day’s lineup of DJs, told The Rio Times. “As the number of actual record shops diminishes, the vinyl fair has consistently provided an outlet for buyers to get their fix and for sellers from all over Brazil to meet new customers.”

The fair will feature a total of seventy-five exhibitors. Rio vendors will include Tropicália Discos, Sempre Música, Only Musica, Livraria Baratos da Ribeiro and Satisfaction, and São Paulo vendors will include, Locomotiva, Big Papa, Sensorial and Zóyd, among others.

Also during this edition, the fair will include the launch of a book and CD for the first time. Guitarist Rodrigo Lima will release his double album entitled, Saga and the official launch of the book “Do blues à Jovem Guarda” (“From the blues to the Young Guard”) by singer-songwriter Albert Pavão will take place.

Similar to previous editions, DJs currated by Marcello MB Groove from Vinil é Arte, will spin throughout the day. Beginning at 11:40 AM, the fourteen selected DJs will spin approximately thirty-minute sets each until 8PM.

“Marcello MB Groove has done a great job curating the roster of DJs for this event,” said Cardaci who is also Director of Music Marketing Consultancy at Strategic Sounds Rio, adding, “In addition to playing a few tunes myself, I’m really looking forward to seeing some old friends and hearing what they’re going to play… guys like Montano, Alex Paz and the one and only DJ Nuts from São Paulo, a serious digger and occasional DJ for Marcelo D2. It should be a real community vibe with an eclectic mix of great music!”

When speaking about his set, Cardaci added; “Although I’ve been to several of the fairs before as a buyer, I’m excited to participate this time as a DJ. I plan to bring along a special bag of rare funk and soul 45’s that you don’t see everyday down here in Brazil.”

The schedule for the DJs is: Alexandre Almeida at 11:40AM, Tee Cardaci at 12:15 PM, Motano at 12:50 PM, Dudu Dub at 1:25 PM, Jailson DJ & Juan DJ at 2PM, Gustavo Magoo at 2:50 PM, Otavio Machado at 3:25 PM, DJ Nuts at 4PM, John Charalambides at 4:35 PM, Marcelinho MG at 5:10 PM, Andre Corysco at 5:45 PM, Tito Figueiredo at 6:20 PM, Tata Ogan at 6:55 PM and João Pinaud at 7:30 PM.
