President Maduro explained that by understanding the processes and leveraging the expertise of specialists in electronics, computers, and electromedicine, Venezuela was able to recover thousands of vital equipment pieces.

The National Plan for the recovery of medical equipment was initiated in 2018 as a government policy.

The plan brought together experts from various fields to focus on repairing medical equipment across hundreds of Venezuelan hospitals.

The program has been highly effective, with a 70 percent success rate in repairs and cost savings exceeding $21 million for the country.

President Maduro emphasized the significance of these medical equipment recoveries, as they play a crucial role in providing daily healthcare services to thousands of patients.

He expressed gratitude towards the anonymous Venezuelan men and women who have contributed their knowledge and expertise to find innovative solutions.

Moreover, this initiative has fostered a culture of corrective and preventive maintenance.

It has also spurred innovation through reverse engineering, new designs, and the research and development of Venezuelan-made parts and components.

The recovery of these medical equipment pieces demonstrates Venezuela’s resilience and determination in ensuring the availability of essential healthcare services despite external challenges.

The efforts of skilled individuals have not only enabled the restoration of vital equipment but also empowered the country to advance its local capabilities in the medical technology sector.
