Swedish Pop Singer Zara Larsson Performs in Rio Tonight

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Tonight, March 20th, indie pop music will invade Rio de Janeiro. Performing in Brazil for the first time, Swedish singer Zara Larsson and British duo Oh Wonder! will take the stage at Circo Voador, in Lapa, at 7:30 PM.

The show is expected to attract the Carioca audience that cannot attend to Lollapalooza, one of the greatest music festivals in the world, whose Brazilian edition will take place in São Paulo next weekend, March 23rd to March 25th.

Larsson and Oh Wonder!’s performance in Rio de Janeiro is an extra show before they head to São Paulo, where they will participate at Lollapalooza’s parallel events, the Lolla Parties, on Thursday, March 22nd. Other Lollapalooza’s international attractions will also be playing on Carioca stages on the next days, like Pearl Jam – which performs in Rio tomorrow, March 21st.

Tonight’s most expected attraction, the Swedish Zara Larsson started in the music scene when she was only 10 years-old, after winning the “Sweden’s Got Talent” championship. She officially entered the industry in 2014, at 16 years-old, with her first album, “1”. After releasing three EPs in the last couple of years, Larsson launched her second album “So Good”, in 2017.

Having built a solid career, the 20 year-old singer is, today, one of the trendiest names in the international pop music scene. Among Larsson’s unbeatable hits are “Never Forget You”, launched in partnership with British producer MNEK; “Uncover”; “Lush Life”; “Ain’t my Fault”; “Girls Like”; and “Symphony”, with the participation of British electronic group Clean Bandit.

Opening tonight’s show, British duo Oh Wonder! goes up on the stage around 8PM. Composed of Josephine Vander Gucht and Anthony West, the musicians started to write songs together in 2014, having soon decided to start a duo.

After a very positive feedback for the “Checkmate Project”, in which a new song was uploaded on Soundcloud every month, Vander and West launched their first album, in 2015. From then on, the alt-pop duo’s career took off for good: in a year’s time, Oh Wonder! performed in 112 cities, did 162 shows and sold over 80,000 tickets.

For tonight’s repertoire, the duo is expected to bring hits like “Body Gold”, “Drive”, “Livewire”, “Dazzle”, “High on Humans”, “Heavy” and “Lifetime”.
