Lula da Silva calls conservatives “fanatics” and promises to “defeat them”

During a meeting with presidents of universities and federal institutes, this Thursday morning (19), Lula da Silva called conservatives “fanatics” and promised to “defeat” them.

The meeting took place at the Planalto Palace and was attended by the Ministers of Education, Camilo Santana, and the Chief of Staff, Rui Costa.

“Although we defeated Bolsonaro, we have to defeat hate, lies, fake news and fanatics”, said Lula da Silva at the end of the meeting.

Lula da Silva also defended a continuous rapprochement with the rectors and suggested annual meetings with representatives of the institutions.

The meeting takes place two days after Lula da Silva allegedly vetoed more than R$4 billion that would be directed to research at universities.
