Largest Classic Car Exhibition in Rio Now at VillageMall Shopping Center in Barra
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – From September 5th to 15th, VillageMall in Barra da Tijuca hosts the largest exhibition of old cars in Rio, Village Classic Cars. The show has more than 150 icons of automobile design from the 1900s to the 1990s.
The event brings together imported and domestic cars, from sports cars to SUVs. In addition, the fair has motorcycles, bicycles, tricycles, and pedal cars, among other vehicles.

To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the beginning of the VW Beetle’s production in Brazil, the event promises to elicit fond memories.
“We will tell the story of the Beetle by presenting the first and last model manufactured in this country. Car lovers may even remember the “banana arrow” – nickname of the directional arrows at the time,” says Gustavo Tostes, curator of the project.
Another landmark of the industry that will be remembered is the celebration of 100 years of legendary French automaker Citroën.
Known for mixing creativity with technology, the brand will be represented by two highlights that made history: the Citroën DS, which revolutionized the 1950s with its futuristic design and the Citroën 2CV manufactured from 1948 to 1990 and the first small minicab in the world with front-drive.
Classic lovers will also find an IKA Torino produced by the IKA-Renault Joint Venture. The model, which is the national pride of Argentina, became known when it won, in its category, the famous Nurburgring race in Germany in 1969.
Among other highlights are an original 1947 Chrysler Town & Country with wood features on the bodywork, representing the luxury and glamour characteristic of the American car at the time.
This is a model desired all over the world. Other rare cars, such as Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Cadillac, Mustang, Opala, and Maverick can also be seen at the event.
The event will also include shows at the Village Bossa Jazz, from Thursday to Saturday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., as well as gastronomic delights from the Delfina and Cheia de Graça food trucks, and the Pobre Juan, Le Vin, and Grand Cru restaurants.
“Village Classic Cars is already part of our calendar of events. It’s an exhibition of history and design,” says Claudia Leon, General Manager of VillageMall.
The exhibition is organized by the Rio de Janeiro Porsche Club and the Veteran Car Club of Brazil – RJ, the first founded in the country.
