Born and raised in Mechanicsville, Virginia, United States, Mraz first made a name for himself in the San Diego, Calfornia coffeehouse scene in the late 90s and early 00s, before rising to mainstream prominence with his 2002 single “The Remedy (I Won’t Worry).”

The song was the lead single from Mraz’s debut album, Waiting for My Rocket to Come. He followed with a sophomore album, Mr. A–Z , in 2005 and his third album, We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things, released in 2008, went on to win two Grammy Awards for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for the song, “Make It Mine”, and Best Pop Collaboration, for “Lucky,” his duet with singer Colbie Caillat.

His fourth album, Love Is a Four Letter Word, was released in 2012 and at times, featured more of a soul and funk inspired feel. It also received a Grammy Award nomination and included the single “I Won’t Give Up“.

Mraz was last in Brazil following that release in 2013. During that time, he performed in São Paulo and Brasília as part of the Circuito Banco do Brasil festival line-up.

On his current tour, he is joined by American rock-folk band Raining Jane. They will open for Mraz at both the São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro shows.
