In an operation in the dead of night, Military Police of Rio de Janeiro seizes drugs, ammunition and weapons

The Military Police seized, in the early hours of Saturday (Dec. 3), a large number of drugs, ammunition, and weapons in the Morro da Coca-Cola, in Arraial do Cabo, in the Lake Region.

According to the corporation, the agents received a complaint stating that an abandoned house on Leblon Street, in the neighborhood Sítio, was being used to store illicit material.

In diligence in the property, the Military Police found 111kg of marijuana, 9,410 capsules of cocaine and 3kg of cocaine base paste, 27 bottles of Loló, a 9mm pistol, 19 rounds of ammunition caliber 45mm, and two pistol magazines caliber 45mm.

Also according to the police, the seized material has an estimated value of R$600 (US114) thousand.

The occurrence was registered at the 132nd Police Station (132nd DP), and no one was arrested.

Exactly 10 days ago (Nov. 25), a shootout at Complexo da Maré, in Rio’s capital, left 8 dead and 5 wounded – one of the wounded was a B.O.P.E. police officer, who was shot in the thorax and abdomen.
