Google’s economic impact in Brazil reaches US$30 billion in 2022
Google has revealed data about the economic impact of its platforms in Brazil in 2022.
According to a report by Access Partnership consultancy, the Search, Google Ads, Google AdSense, Google Cloud, Google Play, and YouTube platforms generated R$ 153 (US$30) billion in the Brazilian economy.
The report was released during the “Google For Brazil” event in São Paulo.
The report provides detailed information about the economic impact of Google Cloud, the company’s cloud computing division, and the impact of the Android application developers’ ecosystem for the first time.

Google Cloud’s solutions contributed R$883 million in efficiency gains through cloud usage and R$ 31 billion in benefits for Brazilian users through Google Workspace, the collaborative and productivity tools.
Marco Bravo, head of Google Cloud in Brazil, highlighted how Google Workspace transformed communication among teams and helped users save the equivalent of 33 days of work.
The Google Play app store generated US$4 billion in revenue for developers and created 238,000 job opportunities.
During the event, Fernanda Dória, Google Brazil’s Mid Market Sales Director, expressed pride in the initiatives that showcased how Google’s platforms have spurred economic development in the country.
Google also announced the 2nd edition of the “Indie Games Fund,” a fund of up to US$ 2 million to support independent game developers in Latin America.
The fund will assist approximately 10 game developers and studios, providing financial aid and technical and business strategy support.
The company has yet to disclose the application process details.
In the previous edition, five Brazilian studios were selected as beneficiaries of the fund.
