Foo Fighters and Queens of the Stone Age to Play in Rio on Sunday

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Foo Fighters and the Queens of the Stone Age will pass through Rio de Janeiro on their 2018 tour this Sunday, February 25th. Fronted by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, the American rock band Foo Fighters will perform in Rio’s famed soccer (football) stadium, the Maracanã.

Th Foo Fighters formed in Seattle, Washington in 1994, and are known for hits like ‘Best of You’, ‘Times Like These’ and ‘Everlong’. The tour is supporting their 2017 album ‘Concrete and Gold’, which is their ninth studio album released in September by Roswell Records/RCA Records.

The Rolling Stone magazine’s Jon Dolan wrote, “Musically and emotionally, Concrete and Gold is their most balanced record yet – from stadium-punk dive bombers like ‘Run’ and ‘La Dee Da’ to the acoustic soul that opens ‘T-Shirt’, in which Grohl gets his Nina Simone on.”

The Queens of the Stone Age, originally from California, was formed in 1996 and has become a cornerstone of the rock scene. The band has released albums such as ‘Era Vulgaris’, ‘Songs for the Deaf’, ‘… Like Clockwork’ and recently released ‘Villains’.

After Rio the bands will go on to perform on February 27th at Allianz Parque in São Paulo, and on March 2nd at the Paulo Leminski Quarry in Curitiba, and in Porto Alegre on March 4th in Beira-Rio.
