Dollar and Ibovespa start the week on the rise
The Ibovespa, the main index of the São Paulo Stock Exchange (B3), started the week with a high of a little more than 1%, at 101 thousand points. Likewise, the dollar had a high of 0.16%, quoted at R$ 5.06.
Despite the good performance this Monday, 10, in the accumulated of the year, the index continues to be negative.
In the first 100 days of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s administration, the drop is just over 7%.

This is the worst performance for the indicator since 1995 – still under the government of Fernando Henrique Cardoso.
The investors’ analysis also considers the statements made by the PT president over the last 100 days.
For example, the frequent criticism of the Central Bank and the lack of approval of essential projects, such as the fiscal framework – should only be sent to Congress in the coming days.
The expectation, however, is that this will occur after Lula returns from his trip to China.
Already on the international scene, data from the US Labor Department showed that the unemployment rate fell to 3.5% in March.
This indicates that the economy continues to be heated, putting pressure on inflation.
To contain this possible surge, the Federal Reserve – the US Central Bank – is expected to announce an increase in the introductory interest rate by 0.25 percentage points.
Thus, the more US interest rates rise, the more the dollar benefits from inflows into the fixed-income market, protecting the currency’s value.
