RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – ISA Intercolombia reported an equipment failure in the Chinú substation (Córdoba), which affected the power supply to municipalities in the departments of Bolívar, Córdoba, Sucre, and Magdalena, which occurred at 11:05 PM on Thursday, May 12, but which has already been partially solved.

It is estimated that this failure affected the power supply to about 80 municipalities in these departments of Colombia’s Caribbean region.

Technicians from ISA Intercolombia, ISA Transelca, and Afinia of the EPM Group, the local operator in the region, are jointly carrying out emergency works to recover the equipment and offer the energy service as soon as possible, a fact that has already partially occurred.

ISA Intercolombia added that, around 05:30 AM, the Chinú substation was partially recovered thanks to these operations.

However, the company continues to carry out maneuvers to recover all the affected equipment and advance in the investigations to determine the cause of the unavailability.

“We regret the inconvenience caused by this situation and reiterate our commitment to provide a reliable energy transmission service,” the company added.
