São Paulo records 1,389 Covid-19 deaths in 24 hours, new record (April 5)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The State of São Paulo on Monday, April 5, recorded 1,389 deaths from Covid-19 in its bulletin over the past 24 hours.

It is the highest daily death toll since the beginning of the pandemic, but the government points out that the bulletin presents accumulated data since last Friday’s holiday, a period during which fewer deaths are usually recorded, due to limitations in the staff responsible for the work.
