Uruguay and Qatar sign a series of agreements and memorandums of understanding

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Qatar signed a series of agreements and memorandums of understanding with Uruguay in fields such as sports, education, and diplomatic training.

According to a written statement from the Court of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Zani met with visiting Uruguayan President Luis Lacalle Pou in the capital Doha.

During the meeting, they discussed opportunities to develop relations in various fields, especially in bilateral relations, diplomacy, education, and sports. They said that a memorandum of understanding was signed between Qatar and Uruguay in education, youth, and sports.

Highlighting that a memorandum of understanding was signed for diplomatic education between the institutes of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Qatar and Uruguay, he said that agreements were signed between the two countries for visa-free entry for holders of official and regular passports, especially diplomatic passports.

The Emir of Qatar, Al Zani, shared the following on his Twitter account after the meeting,

“Today, our meeting with Uruguayan President Pou was very productive. We discussed our relations in various fields between Qatar and Uruguay.”
