Brazil’s Tourist Influx Surges in 2023

Brazil has seen a 111% rise in international visitors in the first eight months of 2023. This info comes from the Ministry of Tourism.

These tourists spent 22.2 billion reais, or $4.4 billion. This spending marks a 7.6% jump from 2019 levels and a 38.7% increase compared to last year.

In August, foreign visitors spent 3.2 billion reais ($645 million). According to the ministry, this is the highest for that month in 25 years.

“Tourists are returning to Brazil with renewed vigor,” said Tourism Minister Celso Sabino.

The Federal Police, Central Bank, and National Civil Aviation Agency provided the data.
