Brazil elections 2022: country gains 2 million young voters in 2022

Preliminary data released by Superier Electoral Court TSE on Thursday (May 5) show a 47% increase over the same period in 2018.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Brazil added 2,042,817 voters between the ages of 16 and 18 in 2022. This is according to preliminary data released Thursday (5) by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).

The figure shows an increase of 47.5% compared to the first 4 months of 2018 and 57.4% compared to the same period in 2014.

According to TSE, this increase reflects the mobilization of the population during the Week of Young Voters, March 14-18.
