China drives growth in Brazilian poultry and pork exports in May

Increased exports to China drove growth in Brazilian chicken and pork shipments in May, the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA) reported yesterday.

Exports of chicken meat (considering all products, including fresh and processed) totaled 433,300 tons in May, 0.9% more than in May last year, when 429,600 tons were shipped.

In revenue, the result of sales in May generated revenues of US$867.4 million, 4.1 percent less than in May last year.
