“I cannot customize my speech or frame the defense of science and research when convenient.”

“I advocate that Ibama allows Petrobras to research.”

“And from there, establish the environmentally correct criteria defining with the methodology and mechanism that can be done exploration with the least possible impact and, consequently, allow this opportunity to exist, “said the governor.

GOVERNOR RECALLED THAT FRANCE HAS BEEN EXPLORING FOR OIL IN THE SAME BASIN FOR A DECADE

“I cannot admit that France has been exploring oil in this same basin for ten years, and Brazil does not allow itself to research the opportunity so that a company the size of Petrobras can do the same.”

“Excuse me, but between research and ideology, I’ll take research,” continued Helder Barbalho.

“Based on research, we will have a state decision.”

“Will Brazil advance on the processes of opportunities in the Foz do Amazonas Basin?”

“I understand that if there is environmental compatibility, this is an opportunity for us to build an economy,” added the governor of Pará.
