The American R&B singer is the first international act confirmed for Flytime’s House of R&B, the show that opens six nights of Flytime concerts in Lagos this December.
Brandy Lagos 2026 is now a fixed date: the Grammy-winning American singer headlines Flytime’s House of R&B concert on Sunday 20 December 2026 at the Eko Convention Centre on Victoria Island, Lagos. For a US fan, it is a chance to see a 1990s R&B star in the middle of Nigeria’s December party season, and for Nigerian-American families flying home for the holidays it is the first big night of the Flytime calendar.
Brandy confirmed the show herself in a video message, telling fans: “I’ll be performing live at Flytime’s House of R&B on the 20th of December, 2026,” Arise News reported on 11 October. The organiser, Flytime Promotions, announced her on Instagram as the first international act confirmed for the night.
Ticket prices, the ticket seller and the full supporting line-up have not been published yet.

What the Concert Is and Why It Matters
House of R&B is a one-night concert built around a single genre, and it opens Flytime’s December programme in Lagos. Because Flytime calls Brandy the first international act booked for the night, more names, Nigerian or foreign, may still follow.
Brandy is best known for hits such as “The Boy Is Mine” and “Have You Ever?”, and she has built a career in both music and acting, Leadership newspaper noted on 10 October. Her booking brings an American R&B headliner to a Lagos calendar that is usually dominated by Afrobeats stars, and it gives Lagos one of the few American headliners of its December season.
Flytime founder and chief executive Cecil Hammond told Leadership that Brandy’s influence on R&B made her the right choice to open the season, and he pointed to the growth of Lagos as an international music destination. Chief operating officer Keke Hammond said the company wanted to raise the standard of live shows and hospitality this year.
Flytime has promoted concerts in Lagos for more than 20 years and runs Flytime Fest, which it bills as Nigeria’s ultimate music festival experience.
Six Nights of Flytime Shows in December
House of R&B is the opening night of a six-night programme at the same venue, according to the schedule Flytime gave Leadership:
- Sunday 20 December: Flytime’s House of R&B, headlined by Brandy.
- Monday 21 December: Coca-Cola Rhythm Unplugged.
- Tuesday 22 to Thursday 24 December: Flytime Fest, three concert nights.
- Friday 25 December: Flytime Circle, which closes the programme on Christmas Day.
For a visitor this matters because the week is compact: one hotel district, one venue and a different show almost every night. Our guide to Flytime Fest Lagos Runs 22 to 24 December 2026 covers the three festival nights, and Detty December 2026: Lagos and Accra Events, Dates, Costs and Travel Guide sets out the wider season, from Davido’s National Theatre residency to the New Year parties.
The Venue and How to Get There
The Eko Convention Centre is part of Eko Hotels & Suites on Victoria Island, the business and nightlife district on the Atlantic side of Lagos. The hotel complex faces the Atlantic shoreline and is one of the best known landmarks on the island, so most drivers know it by name.
Victoria Island sits beside Ikoyi and Lagos Island, and bridges, including the long Third Mainland Bridge, connect the islands to the mainland.
International flights land at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, on the mainland. The drive to Victoria Island can take more than an hour in heavy traffic, and the roads are busiest in December, so plan to arrive in the city at least a day before the show.
Ride-hailing apps work in Lagos, and many hotels arrange airport pickups, which most first-time visitors find easier than hailing a car at the terminal.
Staying on Victoria Island or in nearby Ikoyi keeps the trip to the venue short on concert night. Rooms in the area fill early in December, when the diaspora comes home for the holidays, so book flights and hotels as soon as you decide to go.
Arrange your ride back to the hotel before you leave for the show, because finding a car outside a full venue late at night can take a long time.
Tips for US and Foreign Visitors
Visa and documents. The US State Department says a visa is required for Nigeria and must be obtained before travel; it refers applicants to the Embassy of Nigeria in the United States. Your passport must have six months of validity beyond your arrival date, with one blank page per stamp (State Department country page, last updated 25 June 2026).
The Nigeria Immigration Service runs an online e-Visa portal at evisa.immigration.gov.ng; check the current fee and processing time there before you book.
Health. The State Department lists yellow fever and polio vaccination certificates as required for all travellers to Nigeria older than nine months. Carry the original certificates in your hand luggage.
Safety. The State Department’s advisory for Nigeria, issued on 12 June 2026, is Level 3, “Reconsider travel.” Lagos State is not on its lists of Level 4 “Do not travel” states, and the advisory says the US government’s ability to provide emergency services is limited outside Abuja and Lagos. Use known transport, keep valuables out of sight and avoid walking between venues late at night.
Money. Travellers must declare cash above US$10,000 on entry and exit, according to the State Department. Once tickets go on sale, check before you buy whether your US card is accepted at checkout, or ask a relative in Nigeria to help.
Time. Lagos runs on West Africa Time, six hours ahead of New York in December. No start time has been published yet; when it is, subtract six hours for Eastern Time and nine hours for Pacific Time.
What Is Not Confirmed Yet
Ticket prices, ticket categories and the official ticket seller have not been published on the organiser’s website. Door and start times have not been announced.
Flytime has said Brandy is the first international act, so the rest of the line-up, including any Nigerian R&B acts on the bill, is still to come. We checked the organiser’s website on 12 October and found no ticket link yet.
