Chinese President Xi Jinping aims for a “deep development of the China-Brazil Global Strategic Partnership” as the South American country celebrates its bicentennial of Independence.

“Xi Jinping believes that, as the largest developing country in the Western Hemisphere, Brazil has followed the path of peaceful development of independence and autonomy and has an important projection in regional and international affairs”, the Chinese Embassy in Brasilia said in a statement.
