Thursday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Looking out to the arches of Lapa and being right in front of Circo Voador and Fundição Progresso in the heart of Lapa, Leviano Bar is a two-storey live music venue that puts many others in Lapa to shame. One of the first upmarket bars in the area, Leviano hosts a variety of events and parties every day of the week, accompanied by a complete menu and regular drink specials.
The musical programming changes every night, offering everything from classic Brazilian samba, to reggae and dub to house and hip hop. Thursdays at Leviano are for those who like to dance to great quality music. The evening begins with a lively salsa dance on the first floor with the group Mano a Mano, and then follows to the second floor with forró Leviano, with DJ Floro and Léo Araripe during breaks.

Devendra Obi Banhart is a Venezuelan American singer-songwriter and visual artist. Banhart released his debut album in 2002, followed by material on the Young God and XL labels, as well as other work on compilations and collaborations.
