Tuesday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Casa da Matriz has returned to one of their first musical programs since opening years back, introducing weekly live rock n’ roll in Botafogo. The format was created with the goal of making upcoming rock bands more accessible and giving Tuesdays, a night not famous for late-night partying, some much-needed kick. Tonight’s line-up will feature the band Feroz.
With their multi-room layout, old-school arcade games, and small classic junk shop, this shabby-chic venue has the look and feel of a great house party. The club’s crowd appreciates the adventurous musical policy, especially tonight with live bands and killer shows.

Mic Aberto Rio is a weekly stand-up comedy show on Tuesday nights in Lapa. The show is part amateur comedy competition and part open mic for professional comics. The show is in Portuguese (so the Brazilians will get all of the jokes); everyone else will enjoy practicing their Portuguese and the atmosphere of a stand-up show which is always a lot of fun!
