The most comprehensive retrospective of the Uruguayan modernist ever mounted in Brazil. Nearly 500 items — paintings, manuscripts, maquettes, drawings and the famous wooden toys created by the Torres Garcia family — chart the arc from Barcelona to Montevideo.

The centrepiece is América Invertida (1943), the continent flipped to declare “nuestro norte es el sur.” Curated by Saulo di Tarso in collaboration with the Museo Torres Garcia. Closing March 9 — this is one of your last two weekends.

Pinacoteca Contemporanea — Trabalho de Carnaval
