São Paulo City Hall expects vaccination for people age 40 by Wednesday

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The São Paulo City Hall brought forward vaccination against Covid-19 for people aged 40 to this Wednesday, July 7.

The age group, estimated at 134,000 people, was scheduled for Thursday, July 8. According to mayor Ricardo Nunes (MDB), the anticipation was possible because the capital received 130,000 doses of vaccine on Saturday.

The City points out that all available vaccines have been approved by the National Health Regulatory Agency (ANVISA) and the World Health Organization (WHO) and are effective and safe against Covid-19. “There is no need or possibility to choose a specific immunizer,” it said in a statement.

To get vaccinated, it is necessary to bring proof of residence and a personal document, preferably the CPF (tax ID number) and the SUS (National Health Service) card. Filling out the registration form on vacinaja.sp.gov.br (Vaccine Now) makes the process easier and faster but is not a prerequisite.

Proof of address in the city of São Paulo can be presented in physical or digital form. If it is not in the citizen’s own name, proof in the name of the spouse, partner, parents, and children will be accepted, as long as a document proving the relationship or marital status is also presented, such as General Identification (RG), birth certificate, marriage certificate, or stable union deed.

Vaccination schedule

– Monday (5): people aged 41 years

– Wednesday (7): 40-year-olds

– Friday (9) and Saturday (10): second chance for people 40 and 41 years old who missed their original date, and second dose for those who need to complete the immunization
