RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem South Summit meeting will land in Rio Grande do Sul State capital, Porto Alegre, for the first time, from May 4 to 6, to foster connections between startups, companies, and global investment funds to generate real business opportunities and high-value connections.

In addition, the event will serve as a framework to learn about the trends and innovations that mark the present and future of the most cutting-edge industries. “More than debating the topics that will shape the future, South Summit exists to promote connections and competition and is also a tool to encourage and contribute to the development of the ecosystem,” explains Thiago Ribeiro, General Director of the Brazilian edition of South Summit.

Also, in all these years, South Summit has seen many startups that, over time, have become leaders in their sector and reaped important successes. Specifically, the finalists and winners of South Summit have already raised more than US$8 billion in funding.

The arrival of the South Summit in Porto Alegre will allow the startups participating in the event to generate significant visibility for their project and connect with key players in the ecosystem. Startups interested in participating in the event can register for the South Summit Brazil Startup Competition until March 8. Registration is open to startups from any sector, stage of development, and geographic origin.

Among all those submitted, 50 startups will be selected to have the opportunity to access an exclusive network, with the possibility of 1:1 meetings with investors and corporations in search of innovation, as well as their presence in the Marketplace with a special discount, advice, and mentoring to improve their pitch and media visibility.

María Benjumea, founder and CEO of South Summit, encourages startups to submit their projects to this competition because “we live in a world of global connections. The innovation ecosystem”.
