Imagine Dragons to Play in Rio Tonight: Daily

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Best known for their songs, “Radioactive” and “It’s Time,” the American alternative rock band Imagine Dragons will play tonight, April 3rd, at Rio de Janeiro’s Citibank Hall in Barra da Tijuca.

The show comes two nights before their scheduled appearance as part of the São Paulo Lollapalooza music festival on April 5th.

The band stops in Brazil as they continue their ongoing Into The Night Tour in support of their 2012 debut album entitled, Night Visions. Commercially successful, the release has sold millions of copies worldwide. Additionally, “Radioactive”, one of the album’s singles, earned the band a 2014 Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance.

Based in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, Imagine Dragons was formed in 2008, by lead vocalist Dan Reynolds, drummer Andrew Tolman, and guitarist Daniel Wayne “Wing” Sermon. Current band members are Reynolds and Sermon with bassist Ben McKee and drummer Daniel Platzman.

For the two-day São Paulo Lollapalooza festival Imagine Dragons join other bands, including second night headliners Arcade Fire, that played the main Lollapalooza festival in Chicago, held in August 2013.

“It’s just a legendary festival,” frontman Dan Reynolds told Elle magazine last year. “As a young kid, this was one of the festivals that I heard about and all of my friends were excited to go to. I never got to go to Lollapalooza. My mom was always like, ‘Festivals are too dangerous.’ And I was like, ‘Okay, well then I’m going to end up being in a band.’ One way or another, I had to come to Lollapalooza[…]”

Now Lollapalooza brings Reynolds and company to Brazil. Cariocas, however, will be the first to greet the band before they descend upon the Lollapalooza stage in São Paulo.
