Paid Natal Luz shows in Gramado, Brazil, are listed on most nights from Friday, 30 October 2026, to Sunday, 10 January 2027. A 5% early-lot discount on full-price tickets ends on Wednesday, 21 October 2026.

The 41st Natal Luz opens in Gramado, in southern Brazil, on Thursday, 22 October 2026, and runs to Sunday, 17 January 2027. This guide covers the shows from Friday, 30 October 2026, onward, which leaves US visitors time to get a visa approved.

For US visitors, it is a Christmas trip in the southern summer, built around paid night shows and free street events. The official ticket seller is Eleven Tickets, and the 5% early discount on full-price tickets ends on Wednesday, 21 October 2026.

What Natal Luz Is

Natal Luz is organised by Gramadotur, the city’s tourism body, and presented by Brazil’s culture ministry, the state culture secretariat and Bradesco. Bradesco is a Brazilian bank, and its cardholders get 10% off full-price tickets, up to four per customer.

Four paid spectacles anchor the season: Nativitaten, the Grande Desfile de Natal, Natal Luz In Concert and Brilho de Natal. Each has limited seats, and the site says the main shows sell out first.

Nativitaten stages the birth of Jesus outdoors on water at Serra Park, with music, fireworks and effects. Full tickets start at BRL 360 (about US$71), or BRL 342 (about US$68) with the early discount.

The Grande Desfile de Natal at Expogramado has floats, characters and a band, billed as the country’s biggest Christmas parade. Full tickets start at BRL 420 (about US$83), or BRL 399 (about US$79) in the early lot.

Natal Luz In Concert and Brilho de Natal both play the Palácio dos Festivais, with the Orquestra de Gramado leading the concert. Full tickets for each start at BRL 120 (about US$24), or BRL 114 (about US$23) in the early lot.

Tickets and Prices

Eleven Tickets sells the paid shows and is the official ticketing platform linked from the festival’s website. Seats are limited, and half-price tickets follow Brazilian law.

The festival lists several sectors for each show, and the cheaper Nativitaten and parade sectors are unnumbered. Nativitaten sectors run from BRL 360 to BRL 520 (US$71 to US$103).

Grande Desfile sectors run from BRL 420 to BRL 520 (US$83 to US$103), not counting the Passaporte Experience. Palácio seats run from BRL 120 to BRL 380 (US$24 to US$75).

The site’s “from” prices are half the entry-level full price, the legal half-price rate for students, seniors and disabled visitors. They are BRL 180 (US$36) for Nativitaten, BRL 210 (US$42) for the parade and BRL 60 (US$12) for the Palácio shows.

Cardholders of Bradesco, Digio, Next and Bradescard get 10% off full-price tickets, on top of the early discount. Whether foreign-issued cards work at Eleven Tickets was not tested.

The Passaporte Experience puts one person on a Grande Desfile float, for BRL 900 (about US$179) or BRL 855 (about US$170) early. Places are limited per session, and the festival says it includes an exclusive costume.

Conversions use BRL 5.04 per US dollar, the open.er-api.com rate of 15 October 2026, and are rounded. The early 5% lot ends on Wednesday, 21 October 2026, and later prices were not yet published.

Free Events and the Noel Run

The free Vila de Natal market and Santa’s house at the Praça das Etnias open daily until Sunday, 10 January 2027. Their hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and the daily lighting show starts at 8 p.m.

The free Parada de Natal runs at 3 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays on Avenida Borges de Medeiros. The Caminho de Luzes, a lights walk, runs on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m.

The Rua Coberta stage hosts free music from Tuesday to Sunday at 6:30 p.m., with shows at 11:30 a.m. on weekends. The opening ceremony is free on Thursday, 22 October 2026, at 7 p.m., followed by the lighting show.

The Christmas run and walk, the Corrida do Noel, starts at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, 6 December 2026. Entry is BRL 120 (about US$24) for 5 km or 10 km and BRL 80 (about US$16) for the 3 km walk.

Getting There and Getting Around

Gramado lies in the Serra Gaúcha hills of Rio Grande do Sul, whose capital is Porto Alegre. Book rooms early, since the season runs 88 nights and the main shows sell out.

Gramado keeps Brasília time, three hours behind UTC, and Brazil ended daylight saving time nationwide in 2019. That is one hour ahead of New York until 1 November 2026 and two hours ahead after US clocks fall back.

The State Department advises caution walking or driving at night and avoiding public buses, especially at night. It also warns that violent crime occurs in urban areas day and night and that armed robberies are common.

Safety, Entry Rules and Money for US Visitors

As of 16 October 2026, the State Department rates Brazil Level 2, Exercise Increased Caution, for crime and kidnapping. It advises avoiding public events and crowds and warns that concerts and sporting events can turn violent.

US citizens need a Brazilian visa approved before travel, and the passport must be valid for at least one month at entry. Travellers carrying more than US$10,000 must declare it to customs.

What It Means for You

For US visitors, the main choice is which paid shows to buy, with entry-level full prices from about US$24 to US$83. The free events cost nothing and run most evenings, so a budget trip is possible.

Expats in Rio Grande do Sul can reach Gramado for a night or a weekend. Anyone planning for December or January should book early because numbered seats are limited.

What Is Not Known

The festival’s calendar lists each night’s shows, but seat availability was not checked at Eleven Tickets, the ticket seller. Prices after the lot turns on 21 October 2026 were not yet published.

It is not confirmed what fee Eleven Tickets adds at checkout, which the festival says is added to race entries. Refund and rain rules for the outdoor shows were not found, and air and road routes to Gramado were not checked.

What Comes Next

The early 5% lot ends on Wednesday, 21 October 2026, and the festival opens the next evening. On Friday, 30 October 2026, the calendar lists Brilho do Natal at 6 p.m. and the Grande Desfile at 8 p.m.

The free market and lighting show run until Sunday, 10 January 2027, and the festival ends on Sunday, 17 January 2027. The Noel run takes place on Sunday, 6 December 2026.
