RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The leading brands in the automotive segment that operate in Brazil are, little by little, announcing the new prices of the cars after the Federal Government announced the reduction of the Tax on Industrialized Products (IPI). Ford, which only has imported models for sale in Brazil, is one of them.

The American manufacturer, which recently announced the arrival of the Maverick pickup truck in Brazil, applied the new tax rate, 18.5% lower for cars – for the models Ranger, Bronco Sport, Territory, Mustang, and for the Maverick.

The price reduction for Ford vehicles ranged from R$4,270 (US$853) to R$25,210. The first was applied to the Ranger XLS Double Cab 2.2 4×2 automatic pickup truck, which used to cost R$213,590 and is now priced at R$209,320.

Ford confirmed that the other cars on sale in Brazil would also have their prices readjusted downwards.

The biggest “discount” was for the Mustang Mach 1. The super sports car was almost R$26,000 cheaper, going from R$545,000, the price charged in February, to R$519,790 in March.

RANGER PULLED THE QUEUE OF FORD REDUCTIONS

The price reduction in Ford cars started affecting only the Ranger pickup truck, already on March 4. The manufacturer announced a retraction of approximately 2% in all versions, with prices varying between R$215,980 and R$313,950.

The manufacturer confirmed that the other cars on sale in Brazil would also have their prices readjusted downwards.
