Famous Brazilian TV Presenter Reveals she has Lung Cancer

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – TV Globo‘s Ana Maria Braga, 70, used the closing of her “Mais Você” TV show today, January 27th, to talk about her health condition.

The presenter revealed that she is being treated for lung cancer. “I have a lot of faith, strength that comes from God, and I believe I’m going to get out of this,” she said.

The presenter said she has already started the cycle of treatment against adenocarcinoma, which happens every 21 days and recalled that she has had two other lung cancers.

She also said that this cancer is more aggressive than the previous ones she has had and it is not possible to remove it with surgery or treat it with radiotherapy. On January 24th she received the first cycle of treatment, a combination of chemotherapy and immunotherapy.

Besides lung cancer, Ana Maria Braga has also faced skin cancer in 1991 and was diagnosed with rectal cancer in 2001.
