Brazil reports positive foreign exchange balance in first half of 2023
According to the Central Bank, Brazil has recorded a positive foreign exchange inflow of US$15.05 billion in the first half of 2023, surpassing the figure of US$14.038 billion from the same period in 2022.
For the overall year up to June, the financial channel has seen net outflows of US$13.941 billion, primarily due to inflows of US$294.731 billion and outflows of US$308.672 billion.

In terms of foreign trade, the balance for 2023 remains positive at US$28.99 billion, with imports totaling US$115.641 billion and exports reaching US$144.631 billion.
The exports comprise US$18.128 billion in Advances on Exchange Contracts (ACC), US$33.480 billion in Advance Payments (PA), and US$93.023 billion from other items.
In June, Brazil experienced a positive foreign exchange inflow of US$2.89 billion, contrasting with a net outflow of US$1.157 billion in May.
In the cumulative total of 2022, the balance was negative at US$3.233 billion.
