Avian flu puts São Paulo government on alert

The increase in avian flu cases in countries like Argentina has alerted the São Paulo state government.

In a communiqué published this week, the authorities notified the "need to reinforce biosecurity measures to the maximum degree".

The avian flu has not reached Brazil, but São Paulo follows the cases in neighboring countries because the transmission occurs through contaminated wild birds.

Thus, the dissipation is made by animals . . .
