Nine foreigners refused entry into Paraguay for not being vaccinated

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – On Monday, the General Directorate of Migration reported that, in compliance with the new sanitary regulations to enter Paraguay in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, 9 foreign nationals without vaccination certificates were prevented from entering the country.

The people whose entry into the country was refused were 6 Germans, 1 French and 2 Israelis, who entered the country by air between Saturday and Monday.

The Paraguayan government last week established as a requirement to enter the country the carrying of a certificate stating that travelers have received at least two doses of the vaccine against Covid-19.

CURRENT PROTOCOL

According to the updated protocol for the entry of foreigners and non-residents into Paraguay by air, these must present:

• Traveler’s health declaration form (from 12 years of age), completed electronically through the Ministry of Health website within 24 hours prior to entry;
• Certificate of vaccination against Covid-19 (from 18 years of age);
• Negative SARS-CoV-2 test before entering the country (from 12 years of age) performed within 48 hours prior to entry or negative antigen test performed within 24 hours prior to entry, except for persons entering Paraguay by air or land from MERCOSUR nations – (Argentina, Brazil or Uruguay) or other neighboring countries;
• RT-PCR test after entering the country (from 12 years of age), performed on day 5 to be counted from the day of sample collection of the test presented upon entry.
