Paraguay business roundtable seeks US$700 million in business intentions

The XXV edition of the International Business Roundtable Expo is currently underway in Paraguay, with the participation of businessmen from approximately 30 countries.

The event, organized jointly by the Paraguayan Industrial Union (UIP) and the Rural Association of Paraguay (ARP), adopts a hybrid format with in-person and virtual meetings.

The schedule includes face-to-face meetings on Monday and Tuesday and virtual meetings on Wednesday.

During the opening ceremony, Enrique Duarte, President of the UIP, highlighted the participation of 920 exhibitors representing diverse business areas.

Francisco Ruiz Díaz, Vice Minister of Industry, expressed optimism for the outcome of this business conference, predicting “historic results” for its conclusion.

According to sources, approximately 900 companies are expected to partake in the event, spanning various sectors such as technology, IT and robotics, consultancy services, processed foods, agriculture, livestock, fishing, and related industries.

Of the total registered participants, 50% are foreign companies attending in person.

Attendees hail from countries such as Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Germany, Kuwait, Mexico, the Netherlands, Peru, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, and Uruguay.

In the previous edition of the Expo Rueda held in July 2022, the total value of business intentions reached approximately US$667 million, resulting from 5,000 meetings attended by 946 participants from 29 countries.
