Panama Maritime Authority’s secrecy described as “unacceptable”

The lack of response from the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) to a request for information on the economic, technical, and environmental management of oil spills in the country was described as "unacceptable and worrying" by experts in maritime affairs.

It is a ten-point request to which the AMP did not respond a single word, even though it was made under the Transparency Law, as well as the regional agreement on access to information, public participation, and justice in environmental matters in Latin America and the Caribbean or "Escazu Agreement", which is law in Subscribe to our Premium Membership Plan.
