Tourism sector is recovering in Brazil, says minister

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The Minister of Tourism, Gilson Machado, said today (7) that the tourism sector in Brazil is resuming job and income generation with the advance of vaccination against Covid-19 in the Brazilian population and the lower lethality of the Ômicron variant of the new coronavirus.

"Tourism has been coming for eight consecutive months with positive numbers. In November, we had a turnover with tourism in Brazil of R$14.7 (US$2.8) billion, in December, of R$19 (US$3.6) billion. Between October and the end of February, we will create, in tourism alone . . .
