Brazil: Multilaser offers electric motorcycle by subscription
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – On Friday, June 10, Multilaser announced it would offer electric motorcycles by subscription from R$699 (US$140) per month.
The service results from a partnership between the Watts subsidiary, a manufacturer of electric vehicles, and the startup E-moving, in which Multilaser has a stake. The startup already operates with subscription services for electric bicycles.
The bike offered by Multilaser will be the W125. According to Multilaser, the model manufactured by Watts has a range of 150 kilometers and a performance similar to that of 125-cylinder combustion motorcycles.

“The partnership comes at a moment of expansion of the electric mobility market in the country. Driven by the increase in fuel prices and also by the desire of Brazilians to reduce environmental impacts, we believe that the use of electric vehicles only tends to grow,” said Rodrigo Gomes, founder of Watts, in a statement to the market.
Multilaser bought Watts in March for R$10.5 million with funds raised in the company’s IPO last year.
