Brazil has the 4th lowest inflation among the G20 members in 2022. From January to September, it registered a rate of 4.1%.

The percentage is higher than only Japan (2.8%), Saudi Arabia (2.7%), and China (1.9%).

Austin Rating did the survey.

Brazil has registered deflation – a price drop – for three months in a row, which helped to hold down the rise in the IPCA (National Wide Consumer Price Index), which measures the country’s official inflation.

The highest rate in the G20 is in Argentina, which reached 66.1% accumulated from January to September.

The highest rate in the G20 is in Argentina, which reached 66.1% accumulated from January to September.

Brazil’s year-to-date inflation is lower than in Germany (9%), the European Union (8.5%), the United Kingdom (7.6%), the United States (5.8%), and France (4.5%).

Of the Euro Zone countries, France has the lowest rate. In September, inflation in the region exceeded 10% for the first time in history.

Market operators’ expectations for the IPCA in 2022, disclosed weekly by the Central Bank’s Focus Bulletin, dropped for the 16th time in a row on Monday, October 17. It is now at 5.62%.

By the end of the year, the IPCA will likely be above the 5% target ceiling. On June 6, the Focus report forecasted an IPCA of 8.89% in 2022.
