Brazil elections 2022: União Brasil launches Luciano Bivar’s pre-candidacy for the Presidency
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – União Brasil officially launched on Tuesday, May 31, the pre-candidacy of Luciano Bivar for the Presidency of the Republic.
The event took place at the Ulysses Guimarães Convention Center in Brasilia and brought together politicians and party leaders, such as the former governor of Rio Grande do Norte and former senator José Agripino, the leader of the Union in the House of Representatives, Elmar Nascimento (Bahia), Senator Soraya Thronicke (Mato Grosso do Sul) and the leader of the União Brasil in the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre (Amapá).
During the launch, after the composition of the table, there was a minute of silence in respect to the victims of the rains in Pernambuco state.

The national president of União Brasil and the party’s pre-candidate for the presidency, Luciano Bivar, said that it would be a great shock if a party the size of União Brasil didn’t have a candidate for the presidency.
The party emerged from the merger between the DEM and the PSL. “This is the only way we will end the polarization that has taken hold in Brazil,” he said.
Bivar said that the main banner of his pre-campaign would be the institution of a single federal tax.
“Our tax reform will bring the replacement of 11 federal taxes into just one. The Single Tax comes to reduce the bite of the lion. It will be a single tax, smaller, and everyone will win.”
The pre-candidate guarantees that, with this single tax, products and services will become cheaper.
Luciano Bivar has a law degree from the Rio de Janeiro Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences, post-graduation in financial education from Northwestern University (USA), and comparative law from Unicap (Recife).
He is a businessman and federal deputy for Pernambuco in his fourth term.
