Brazil: Diesel ends April with a 4% increase at service stations, says Ticket Log
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The average price of diesel at service stations in Brazil rose 4.05% in April compared to March, to R$6.870 (US$1.39) per liter, according to a survey conducted by Ticket Log, the fleet management and mobility solutions brand of Edenred Brazil.
The Ticket Log Price Index (IPTL) also showed that S-10 diesel increased 3.75% in the period, reaching R$6.993 per liter.
If compared to the values of January this year, regular diesel registered an increase of 19.1%, and the S-10 type, 10%, according to Douglas Pina, general director of the mainstream of the Fleet and Mobility Division of Edenred Brazil.

“The price of diesel has not fallen since December last year when IPTL identified drops of 0.08% in the value of the two types,” he said in a statement.
The fuel prices gained strength with the impact of the oil market at the beginning of the year, given the unfolding war between Ukraine and Russia. In early March, Petrobras raised diesel by about 25% in its refineries.
In the analysis per region, the price of regular diesel showed a generalized increase in April. The South region registered the biggest price increase in the month, up 5.23%, with the fuel going from R$6.152 to R$6.474.
The S-10 type sold in the Northeast registered the highest increase among the regions (4.20%) and went from R$6.762 to R$7.046.
Amapá was the highlight of the price hike among the states, with a 10% increase in the average price of the liter for the S-10 type. Rio Grande do Sul, on the other hand, commercialized both regular and S-10 diesel at the lowest averages in the country.
The survey is based on supplies made at Ticket Log’s 21,000 accredited service stations.
