Brazil: Bolsonaro’s provisional measures expire

Two provisional measures issued during the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) government lost validity this Sunday, 5.

They were not analyzed in the House of Representatives and did not reach the Senate on time.

One of them allowed the postponement of budget transfers to the culture and events sectors foreseen in the laws Paulo Gustavo, Aldir Blanc 2, and the Emergency Program for Resumption of the Events Sector.

A provisional measure is in force for 60 days, extendable for another 60. After this period, it loses its validity if it is not voted on in the House and Senate (Photo internet reproduction)

The MP received 44 amendments.

The other provisional measure limited the use of resources from the National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development.

According to the text, the FNDCT could invest R$5.5 billion in 2022.

From this year on, the measure established a percentage of applications that would only reach 100% of the resources in 2027.

The text received 15 amendments.

A provisional measure is in force for 60 days, extendable for another 60.

After this period, it loses its validity if it is not voted on in the House and Senate.

Another 24 provisional measures are awaiting a vote in Congress.
